Cary SLP70 modified

I have to dig up the schematics of this one , this is one of many pre amps i upgraded

it uses an ECC82 as a pre amp tube , it is only a line amp has a balance and volume pot tube rectified and in order to get low hum the current through

each tube was very low , so was the sound quality !!!!

The circuit is very similar to my line amp the simple 6SN7 pre amp , but they used coupling cap between triodes and basically just too low current , if my memory is correct less then 1mA and slightly more the 1mA for the next stage .

I omitted the tube rectification in favor for a choke input filter using silicon diodes and Lundahl LL1668/50mA choke

and i preferred to use the E88CC Siemens available to me from my stock that can work with lower voltages

because the choke rectified powersupply has lower voltages !!!!

parts where also upgraded : Dale and Audyn mkp , bourns plastic film pots to adjust bias current of first tube ( necessary because they are direct coupled )

I omitted the balance pot , and strangely the top 2 big capacitors where not used , so i used them as well .

Result More AIR , More depth and More life .
